Finishing your F1 car

once the car has been cut out the next stage is to finish it off with paint. the first step is to sand that wood back to a smooth finish so that when it is painted it comes out with a nice smooth finish.

the picture above shows my personal car before it is painted.

the next step is to paint the car. you can do as many coats as you like but remembering you want it as light as possible but the more coats mean that you are able to get a smoother finish. i have decided to paint mine black and do as many coats as it takes to get it as smooth as possible, my car is quite light and I don't have to worry about the weight after the paint, the wheels and axles will complete the remaining required weight.

the two pictures above are once again my car after it has been painted with three coats, the finish now is the smoothest as it will get without using unprofessional help.

it all depends up to your own desire and whether or not you have sponsors or not you can do other colors and paste on logos that you can put a clear coat over the top so that it can stay smooth for aerodynamics.
